The Director of Planning will Perform the following:

Strategic Planning and Vision:

    • Leads the development and implementation of the organization's long- term strategic planning process.

    • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

    • Ensures strategic plans are aligned with the organization's overall goals, market trends, and stakeholder needs.

Organizational Design and Transformation:

    • Assesses the organization's structure, processes, and capabilities to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

    • Develops and implements organizational design initiatives to enhance efficiency, agility, and responsiveness.

    • Manages large-scale organizational change and transformation projects, including mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.

Resource Allocation and Budgeting:

    • Oversees the planning, allocation, and management of the organization's financial, human, and other critical resources.

    • Develops and manages the organization's capital and operating budgets, aligning them with strategic priorities.

    • Ensures efficient utilization of resources and identifies opportunities for cost optimization.

 

      Risk Management and Mitigation:

    • Oversees the identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks facing the organization.

    • Develops and implements robust risk management policies, processes, and contingency plans.

    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure effective risk management and business continuity.

 

      Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:

    • Builds and manages relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, industry partners, and the community.

    • Represents the organization in industry forums, conferences, and negotiations to enhance its positioning and reputation.

    • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities.

 

      Investment and Portfolio Management:

    • Develops and oversees the implementation of the pension fund's investment strategy, including asset allocation, portfolio diversification, and manager selection.

    • Ensures the investment portfolio is aligned with the fund's risk appetite, return objectives, and liability profile.

    • Monitors the performance of the pension fund's investments and makes timely adjustments to the portfolio as needed.

  • Organizational Effectiveness and Innovation:

    • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Pension Agency.

    • Identifies opportunities to streamline operational processes, leverage technology, and enhance the overall efficiency and member experience.

    • Leads the development and implementation of initiatives to improve the Pension Agency's internal capabilities, from talent management to data analytics.

 

      Collaboration and Thought Leadership:

  • Actively participates in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory developments.

  • Collaborates with other pension fund managers, industry experts, and policymakers to contribute to the advancement of the pension system.

  • Provides strategic advice and guidance to the executive leadership and the Board of Trustees on complex pension-related matters.
